LIVING FROM THE POWER OF HIS PRESENCE

Become part of a Spirit-led movement that's impacting nations

Who We are

cross on a mountain.jpg

Aglow began in 1967 with four women who expressed a desire to meet together as Christians without denominational boundaries. The first general meeting was held in Seattle, Washington, USA, close to where Aglow’s Worldwide Headquarters exists today.

The meeting drew more than 100 women to the Meany Hotel close to the University of Washington campus. It didn’t take long for women who attended that first meeting to invite their neighbors and friends to gatherings in other communities surrounding Seattle. As the word spread, new groups began springing up around Washington State, and within months, groups formed in other U.S. states.

Before He said “Let there be light,” in the heart of God was a movement called Aglow International. It would originate with an unprecedented move among women, but would ultimately encompass men as well. From a small beginning, God breathed on Aglow throughout five decades to impact lives in over 170 nations. Aglow has been Spirit born, Spirit led for over 50 years.

Why Choose Aglow

Aglow is a global community of women and men in more than 170 nations, sharing Biblical principles as real answers for today’s challenges.

Local groups have long been the heart and soul of the ministry. These Kingdom Communities are formed within communities, neighborhoods, and workplaces throughout the nations. Our groups have a heart for people and find ways to bring the radiant love of God to their communities, neighborhoods, and workplaces.

Aglow women and men reach into their local areas to feed the homeless, minister in jails and prisons, share Bible studies, work with orphans, reach out to juvenile facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, etc. They have outreaches in the parks to reach families. The possibilities are endless.

Over four years, our local Aglow lighthouse has remained a faithful beacon. Each month, the Holy Spirit fills our gatherings through worship, deep teaching, and Scripture. Connection time following services helps cultivate authentic, lasting bonds.
Our leadership is truly yielded to the Spirit, listening for God's wisdom while extending unconditional love to every person.
Participating in monthly meetings has been a profound blessing. There is joy in uniting with devoted believers eager to follow God's lead and serve. I am thankful for our director's initiative in launching this chapter and their heart to see Aglow flourish across W.N.C. -Joan Wanson
